Double digits! and Chinese New Year

We have hit the double digit mark since our LID. It's hard to believe it's been 10 months. It's harder to even think about how much longer it will be, but ... what can you do? You just keep going, keep counting off the days and keep looking at all the blogs as others get their referrals.

We also had a great time Sunday night at a Chinese New Year celebration our Great Wall China Adoption representative put on. There are several families in our area who have adopted from China, and there are several more of us who are in the process. We ended up with about a dozen girls and one boy who have been adopted from China at the celebration. This is an annual event, and it's always fun to see the kids. Next year there will be at least 3 more kids — one woman was to have received her referral today (Feb. 4) and another couple has a 12-28-05 LID, so they should get their referral in March. Another couple is expected to travel soon to pick up their son.

Events like that are fun to attend. It gives us tangible proof that our journey will end with us having a child.
